The game of horseshoes is an American classic and has been around since the early 1900's and hasn't changed very much over the years with the exception of some new shapes on the pitching horseshoes. To play horseshoes the stakes are spaced 40' apart and scoring horseshoes is easy. You get 1 point if you are within 6 inches of the stake and the closest to the stake. You score 3 points for horseshoe that is wrapped around the stake, called a ringer. The game of washers has almost the exact same rules for playing, but instead of a horseshoe you toss a washers into a hole. You space the washer game boards apart 20' and you get 3 points if you get the washer in the hole and 1 point if you get the washer in the washer pit. Play both horseshoes and washers to a score of either 11 or 21 points.
